Caldwell Cigars is the new venture of Robert Caldwell in an independent project to develop his own cigar blends. Robert Caldwell has been in the cigar wold for many years now. While he was initially known part of the Wynwood Project in conjunction with Christian Eiroa and then the dissolution of known partnership, he stayed under the radar getting ready for a new beginning. Robert Caldwell announced his return back in February 2014 in some of the most renewed internet cigar blogs like Casas Fumando, Stogie Review among others.

Three new lines were made in the Dominican Republic to create The Caldwell Collection: The King is Dead, Long Live the King and Eastern Standard. As per Robert Caldwell own words: Dominican Republic is one of those hidden treasures in plain sight, with so much excellent and premium tobaccos with very distinctive and unique flavor and aroma. Been this the reason he choose it. His idea was to find those rare, exotic flavors and non traditional tobaccos to create a unique flavor profile. Going out of the comfort zone, he uses a difficult to find and process wrapper as Dominican Negrito, Ecuadorian Connecticut Hybrid and the limited Dominican Corojo. More recently, The King is Dead hit the 2015 Top 25 Cigar Aficionado Best Cigar of the Year with a 93 Rating.
