La Gloria Cubana White Box cigars have long been prized for their rich, medium-to-full-bodied flavor.

Originally blended by Ernesto Perez Carillo, his intent was to find a blend of Dominican and Nicaraguan tobaccos that would rival the very best Cuban cigars.

The latest addition to the line, La Gloria Cubana Esteli takes the brand's original blend on a flight of exploration to Central America. The first White Box offering to be handmade in Nicaragua, this is a modern interpretation of the classic La Gloria smoking experience.

Wrapper

Distinctively bold in profile and uniquely Nicaraguan in spirit, La Gloria Cubana Esteli begins with a rich wrapper from Nicaragua's Jalapa Valley.

It's a dark, spicy, leaf that paves the way for a truly complex taste profile. The cigar has been handcrafted in Esteli, Nicaragua at the STG Esteli Factory. This is a first for any of the White Box line, which is usually produced in the Dominican Republic.

Filler

Surrounded in a Honduran Jamastran binder, the filler is an expert blend of Honduran Jamastran and La Entrada tobaccos.

Somewhat surprisingly for the first La Gloria Cubana to be handcrafted in Nicaragua, only the wrapper is actually Nicaraguan. General Cigar, who purchased the La Gloria Cubana brand in 1999, has stated that the name is in honor of the artisans from the Esteli factory who created the blend.

So if you're looking for a Nicaraguan cigar, despite the name this isn't the choice for you.

Flavor

The blend of Honduran Jamastran and La Entrada fillers and Jamastran binder delivers a unique medium-to-full bodied smoke.

There are clear notes of cedar, spice and white pepper. With the wooden notes mixing perfectly with the spice and even some sweetness, this is a flavor profile with plenty of complexity.
